If you look through the window and do not like what you see in the backyard, this probably means that you should seriously consider spending next weekend in garden clearance and maintenance.
Have in mind that in contrast to regular house clearance and rubbish removal, clearing up your garden might turn out to be a pretty complex and time consuming task. If you are not well supplied with patience and determination to do the job right, you are most probably going to fail. This is so due to the simple fact that proper garden clearance can be done only if favorable conditions – mostly weather conditions – are present. If the day you have planned for it offers stable weather, do not hesitate to roll up your sleeves and get down to work.
There are several specific areas in your back yard that need to be tackled in an individual manner:
- Trees
Overgrown branches and the grass that grows around the trunks are the two things to focus on here. Some kinds of trees produce a large amount of leaves that fall in autumn and have the tendency to pile up around them. Rake up the leaves and then cut the grass. If you want your trees to be healthy and growing, remove dead branches by simply cutting them off.
- Garden beds
The soil is the most important thing for your flower beds. If the flowers are dying or just do not look in the best shape possible, check the soil and determine which the best way to improve it would be. Re-soil and fertilize the ground. Once you are finished with that, you can remove any dead flowers and petal debris. If a plant is dying but you do not want to give up on it, replant it in a small pot and take care of it inside the house until it is ready to go back in the ground.
- Hedges
Your hedges are really important for the curbappeal of your home. They also bear the potential of creating a unique and comfortable atmosphere inside the yard. When you trim a hedge, remember that you have to start from the bottom and work your way to the top. Use a ruler or some other long even object to determine whether or not the hedge is even at the top.
- Decorative ponds and other water features
You can use a net to remove leafs from the water in your pond. Another thing to do here is to make sure that the flowers which place is there are well tended to. You should also remove mold and other unpleasant growths from the edges of the pond, especially around the waterline.
- Shed
This is the place where you tend to pile up a variety of unnecessary items in addition to your tools. That is why major de-cluttering is to take place in the garden shed. Once you are finished, arrange your tools in a way that provides quick and easy access to all of them.
